Gentleman`s Agreement Episode

Backstory: Gentleman`s Agreement (2001) *** (from 4) Another good episode of the series, this one looks at the pressure on producer Darryl F. Zanuck when he refused to give in and continued to make GENTLEMAN`S AGREEMENT. The documentary tells the story of the other studio bosses who turn their backs on the novel and then beg Zanuck not to produce it for fear of a backlash against Hollywood. From there, we learn more about the casting of Gregory Peck, the hiring of Elia Kazan and John Garfield`s acceptance of a smaller supporting role. The film`s fame and success at the box office and Oscars are discussed, but also the events after the film, including the House on UnAmerican Activities, look at Hollywood and why many think he killed Garfield. Fans of the film should really be entertained with this film because it really gives you a good idea of what was going on in the world at that time, and it talks about the impact of the film before the country changed for the worse. Kazan`s decision to name names is discussed and we get an archive interview with him in which he talks about his decision. Rudy Behlmer, David Brown, Julie Garfield, Mel Gussow and Celeste Holm are all interviewed about the making of the film. After the rather boring episode and formula “Booby Traps”, I was a little afraid that the rest of the series “Blood Drive” would quickly become a repetitive series. You know, always the same structure, namely a different setting and grotesque opponents per race day. Well, I love it when I`m taught otherwise! “The Gentleman`s Agreement” may not be the best, but it`s certainly the most entertaining episode of the series to date! From a history standpoint, it`s a disjointed mess, but to make up for that, there are large amounts of extreme violence, coarse blood, sick black humor, and general depravity. The TV station`s board of directors demoted Julian Slink to the position of caretaker at the head office and entrusted the task of supervising the blood drive to the participating gentleman. This gay megalomaniac wants nothing more than eliminate Grace and Arthur right away, but that`s easier said than done.

Meanwhile, Slink uses semi-cyborg Christopher in his plan to get back into the game. They free a bloodthirsty demon from the catacombs of the Heart Headquarters and send him to the race camp. The death toll in this episode is extremely high, and the deaths are really, really bad! We are talking about head explosions, facial fractures, throat slits and various limb dismemberments. Enjoy your meal! A less interesting curve that we launch comes early, Grace agrees to be the eyewitness of Officer Arthur Bailey (Alan Ritchson) in the case he is building against Heart Enterprises. Her sister is gone, so she finds out what she`s running for? We saw Grace collapse at the end of last week`s episode, opening her up to opportunities to break free. She`s doing the right thing, and it scares me. Good things tend to go wrong when evil is good. A more interesting twist would be that Grace Arthur made him hang out of there, causing the two brains to explode. Blood Drive, Season 1, Episode 7, “The Gentleman`s Agreement,” puts aside all doubts about loyalty in the series. There is none.

Loyalty is a weakness, even for Heart Enterprises, the producer of the most horrific extravagance of network television. Meanwhile, back at Heart Industries, Slink learns that they have given the responsibility to The Gentleman. Furious, he murders one of the managers and formulates a plan to recover his show. He will need someone he can manipulate. Slink (Colin Cunningham) is from Blood Drive. Demoted to the rank of guardian, he decides to clean up Heart Enterprise. He does it in the most enterprising way. He hires the very man whose only mission in life is to bring down the blood drive: officer Arthur Bailey`s partner (Alan Ritchson), Christopher Carpenter (Thomas Dominique). This is exactly the kind of strategy that Slink Slink has made.

He always thinks a few steps forward in life`s chess game. He took the Queen and locked her up in a psychiatric ward, only to lure Grace (Christina Ochoa) into a difficult life on the street. Everything is connected, gang. That`s where Christopher comes in. Slink closes a transaction. When Christopher opens a door for Slink, he gets the key to Aki`s brain supply.

And THAT, Christopher realizes, is the key to what happens to brainwashing. Christopher agrees, and the two release a fairly serious monster in the form of a giant ogre named Denali. .
